They are not ethical. Bait and switch is their tactic. Run don't walk from this dealer.
Slime ball sales men work here and it is a shame that such a convinient location is so satturated with such unethical sales people. The sales manager should be replaced, and have someone with some ethics go in and hire good sales people.
We went in for a test drive and two of the sales people bugged us for two weeks afterward, even after I told them that I was not going to buy a car from them. They have no problem using high pressure sales tactics.
They also use the old trick of pricing high then "dealing" with you to try to make you feel like you got a great bargan. The truth is you would be better off on Craigslist. At least you wouldn't have to deal with these slimey people.
If you really want a Honda, I suggest go to Berkley Honda. Nice people, fair prices, worth the drive.
Don't ever purchase a car especially a used car from Dublin Honda, particularly from a salesman name Barry Prise. He makes promises he doesn't keep, lie to you, sell his own mother's sole to the devil and lie to God so he can sell you a car. Barry is the ultimate poster-child for "USED CAR SALESMAN". And he reinforced the reputation that we all have about used car salesmen.
In early Aug 2008, I took my sister-in-law to Dublin Honda to purchase a used car. After looking at few used Hondas we noticed that their prices were extremely high. (Talk about price gauging because of high gas prices). So instead test drove a used Suzuki Verona that was sitting in their lot. Upon test driving the Suzuki, I noticed the breaks were loose (or had air in it). I mentioned it to Barry and he said heâd have it fixed (GUARANTEED) if we were interested. If breaks were not fixed then we would get our money back in full. Everything else looked ok so we decided purchase the Suzuki with contingent that the breaks will be fixed. Giving Dublin Honda and Barry the benefit of doubts we left a deposit and said weâll be back in few days to pickup the car. When we returned few days later the breaks were the same. His promise of giving us âFULL REFUNDâ was a total bullshit. Barry also promised to fill the gas tank half full but that turned out to be a lie as well.
I spoke with his manager Ryan who says we donât offer refund and added that Barry would never make a promise of such thing. I had my 7-yr old daughter and my sister-in-laws son 14 and they all remember Barry making us the promise.
In addition we found out several days later from a 3rd-party mechanic that the car was salvaged. At the time of purchase I asked Barry several times for carfax and if the car was ever in an accident. Barryâs reply was, âcar is clean and never been in an accidentâ. The mechanic says when he looked under the car, there were obvious frame/body work done and any other mechanics would have noticed it right away. I asked Ryan about this and heâs reply was, âif itâs minor salvage then they donât tell customersâ. I couldnât believe what I was hearing. I think they even doctored the carfax.
I am NEVER buying another car from Dublin Honda and will tell everyone I know to stay away from them. I am also going to post this message everywhere so car buyers are aware of Dublin Honda and guys like Barry Prise.
