A great place to relax ! I saw a band called Whiskey Richard there this Past Saturday and they were AWESOME ... Great MUSIC,unbelievably great food and great people ! Plenty of parking too. I will be going back especially for the band and the food Sept. 26th .....Thanks guys my kids loved the place !

I don't have a long review to write. I was at Rivals in Nov. or Dec. of 2007 and the food was spectacular. I live in the Akron area and don't have the opportunity to eat at Rivals often. I plan on stopping there every time i'm at the IX center and will be going back next week. Can't wait. I'm more excited about going to rivals than the boat show.

We eagerly awaited the opening of this new restaurant, since it seemed to take an extended time to open. Our expectations were somewhat diminished this evening. We waited a bit to visit Rivals to allow for the "new situation" (personnel and owners) to settle in. Our first impression was 'loud'. While we were dining an older couple came into the dining room, turned back and asked if they had a quieter spot in a back room. I realize it is a sports bar, so it goes to reason it would be louder. Our waitress was listed on the tab as '308 Angela', a lovely, polite young lady. After she took our order, the salad came quickly, but we waited quite a bit for the entree. She did come out and tell us it would be a few minutes. The decor is very nice, the presentation of the food is excellent. My husband likes a bit of bread or roll with his meal, and it was some minutes before the waitress came back to request it. Apparently the restaurant does not serve bread automatically with the meal. Each of our meals were very good. The requested bread never arrived, by the time she remembered it, we were finishing the meal. The refill for hot water, which I asked for, took a long time also. As a tea drinker, may I suggest a spoon be provided with the tea - I used my extra fork. Also the waitress might ask if milk is required, since many tea drinkers like milk in their tea. Our overall impression of the service was "disorganized", with so many employees in the uncrowded room (time was Sat. 6:00 pm). Maybe our waitress is new to the service job, but should know to ask about refills for drinks.

FYI, I do not give this review for any other reason, than to make you aware of what could be improved. We owned a bar/restaurant and without someone making us aware of situations or problems, we could not fix it. We wish you every success and hope you stay in our city a long time. When we were approached to voice an objection to your outside patio, we politely backed away. Having been through the ownership experience, we didn't feel it would be the problem some of our neighbors apparently expected.
