User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsneeded a last minute tuxedo rental for my wedding and Top Hat & Tails produced a rental in less than 2 hours. Unbelievable! I just wanted to thank the owner Horace for his time and attention. My husband and I will send all of our friends there!

OMG!! THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE!! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! WE HAD A HORRIBLE RUN IN WITH THE STORE PERSONEL TODAY. MY DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND RENTED A TUXEDO AT TOP HAT AND TAILS 1809 SPRINGFIELD AVENUE MAPLEWOOD NJ STORE. PROBLEM IS HE RENTED THE SUIT WITHOUT TAKING THE DRESS AND IT REALLY WAS AN AWFUL MATCH. SINCE HE SAID HE DID NOT SEE ANYTHING ELSE HE LIKED WE DECIDED TO CANCEL THE RENTAL 2 HOURS LATER. I CONTACTED THE STORE AND SPOKE TO THE SALESMAN HORACE. I ASKED HIM ABOUT CANCELLING THE RENTAL. HE WENT BALLISTIC ON THE PHONE. HE SCREAMED AND WAS VERY ANGRY. HE SAID HE WILL CHARGE US $50 FOR HIS TIME BECAUSE HE DOES NOT WORK FOR FREE THAT HE HAS A FAMILY TO FEED ETC... AND HUNG UP ON ME BEFORE I COULD EVEN RESPOND. I CALLED BACK AND ASKED HIM WHY HE WAS BEING SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL. I NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT THE PROCEDURE WAS. HE WAS STILL VERY UPSET TOLD ME TO BRING THE CONTRACT BACK AND HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN. ONE HOUR LATER WE WENT TO THE STORE. THE KIDS WENT IN TO DELIVER THE CONTRACT, ASKED ME TO STAY IN THE CAR BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT ANY PROBLEMS. 5 MINS LATER THEY CAME OUT THE STORE UPSET AND SALES MAN WAS RIGHT UP ON THEM THREATENING TO BUST HIM IN THE FACE.THERE WERE TWO OTHER BIG MEN FOLLOWED BEHIND. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I CALLED 911 AND IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. THE SALES MAN,I BELIEVED TO BE HORACE, EVEN CAME ACROSS THE STREET TO MY CAR AND GOT UP IN THEIR FACE. AFTER AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT TO GET HELP FROM THE POLICE I GOT THEM OUT OF THERE AND DROVE TO THE POLICE STATION 2 MILES AWAY.
WE GOT HOME A BIT SHAKEN BUT SAFE....
I AM FILLING A COMPLAINT WITH ALL CONSUMER RELATED AGENCIES AND RELATIVE ORGANIZATIONS. -

My husband and I were in the store when this ranting and raving customer came in. Her whole review is a lie. I have been using Top Hat & Tails for 5 years for formal wear as well as suits and have always been treated with great service and respect! Sometimes the customer is " Wrong"!
