    Trust me when I say this: Don't bother eating here. Nothing special about the food or service. Very boring food that is not worth the price you'll pay.

    After reading the reviews, I visited this restaurant from Gainesville with two friends and we were all very disappointed. The "gator bites" appetizer was decent, though the portion was small for $8. After the starters it went down hill... 15 minutes after placing our dinner order we were told they were out of Baby-back ribs. We substituted with a sirloin steak, spare ribs and pulled pork. The $14 sirloin steak (ordered medium) did not have a hint of pink left, it was well done and overly seasoned and arrived sitting on a scoop of butter. The $14 spare ribs (portion of 4) were full of gristle, and not smoked enough to be anywhere near tender. The sauces were blatantly KC masterpiece or a similar store brand. But here is the absolute worse part of the whole experience: The mac and cheese was bland pasta served in cold, unseasoned processed cheese sauce and the mashed potatoes were clearly made from potato flakes. To make our whole experience better the Chef adorned every single dish with fresh chives... wow. What a waste of money and time.

    Quite possibly one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Not only were the prices of the meals overpriced, but the quality was mediocre at best--steaks were salty, ribs were rubbery, and the sides were bland. After reading other reviews on this website, I expected Smokey's to be a restaurant that I could recommend to others. But after eating here, all I can say is save your time (and money) and eat elsewhere.
