Some reviews on here are so incorrect it's absurd... The decor in Mr. Lees is not "cheesy" by any means, he spent hundreds of thousands renovating an old Cooker restaurant into a high class Asian dining experience, and the decor shows this... You would be hardpressed to fine even a handful of Asian restaurants that are this fancy. The front glass door alone was customed ordered from New York...
I believe Mr. Lee comes from a Szchuan province in China, so if you like things spicy, this is your ticket. All items can be ordered mild... This isn't your eggroll/sweet and sour chicken street corner chinese restaurant, so beware... This is high class dining but with moderate prices! I've been to every sushi place around Dayton Ohio, and Mr. Lees is my favorite. You can't beat the Volcano or Yummy special sushi rolls... They are the two best rolls I have ever had...
Also, Mr. Lee is usually on hand, stopping by tables and recommending dishes based on your preferences.. Where else can you get that?
I am reading the poor reviews and I am wondering if these people actually are writing about the correct Mr Lees. I dined there for the first time a month ago, and I have returned at least four times since. I have only been there for lunch, which is very reasonable pricing. The food was fabulous, the best Asian I have had. I also am a big fan of veggie sushi, and the sushi chef is great-again the best I have had. The portions were plenty, especially for lunch. The atmosphere was very relaxing, not "cheesy" at all. THe service was perfect too. I have heard that they have made some improvements since they first opening, but all I know is what they are doing is fabulous! Now i am off to have lunch there right now!
I thought this place was way over priced. The decor was almost cheesy, and it seemed extremely dim. The portions were decent and if you wanted something spicy, it was. To be completely honest I would rather go to a buffet or quick carry out, the food at Mr. Lee's is not that much better. Will not be returning.
