They have everything going for them- location, facilities, menu, it is really the employees who ruin it. I'd be recommending this place left and right except for the lazy, rude, downright DUMB teenagers that work here. That is the only reason we'll stick to the closer bowling alleys, otherwise we'd have gladly made the extra trip.
We are new to Suamico, and having heard such mixed reviews were a little leery, but decided to give the place a shot. Our food was actually really good, in comparison to others in the "sports bar" category. And the atmosphere is much better than the other local establishments. Lots of big TVs and some billiards. It's probably a good place to watch big games.
They have an excellent on-tap beer selection - better than anyone else in town. And although the drink specials were not good, they did give us buy one, get one free coupons for a Home Run hit during the Brewers game that was on while we were there.
One bad thing: Our waitress did take too long when we asked for "just a minute" to decide on our dinner selections, and was slow to return to check on our just-arrived food, but other than that, we had a good time overall. (PS, it was a Thursday night, not at all busy except with bowling teenagers). We will probably go back again, especially for the beer selections. It's probably better suited to young people who want to go out - not to families looking for quiet, casual dining.
Rumor has it that this place is losing $30G a month. Go in there and you will see why. There are more managers than employees, they got rid of their Happy Hour special (its now $1 off instead of Double Bubble), the service is terrible, and the food is just as bad. I really doubt that this place will still be open in May after the men's state tourney is finished. Well, maybe under new management if someone tries to buy it when the current management/owners go belly-up.....
