My husband and I truly enjoy sushi. We've enjoyed dining at Sakura, Nami, Sushi Tango, Fujiya, Tiger Sushi, Ichiban, Azia/Anemone and a few other. However, Crave is our favorite. The fish is of the highest quality and freshness. The sushi bar is small. Sometimes we've gotten poor service at the bar but that has improved over time. The majority of the sushi chefs are very friendly. Crave offers a variety of specialty rolls that are bright and flavorful. The Mexican roll, though nontraditional, is a must. The California rolls are made with real crab instead of Sea Leg.
The main dining area offers an eclectic menu. The pasta dishes have been delicious. The meat dishes are always cooked to perfection.
Crave can be very crowded on weekends. The hostess staff is young and often is a bit snotty. Luckily if we haven't had to say more than a few words to them.
Crave also offers sushi classes. My husband and I had a wonderful time with Tony (head sushi chef). You learn how to make the basic sauces, rice, roll techniques. We were provided with the recipes for the rice and sauces as well as given a resource list. The class is definitely worth the fee if you want to learn to make your own rolls.
The price range is moderate. The quality of the food has been exceptional. The wait service is adequate for the sushi bar and outstanding in the main dining. Management is always receptive of comments and has strived to make improvements.
The new location at Mall of America offers a larger facility and the hostess staff seem more friendly.
very happy with the food and the service. I am not the biggest sushi fan around but this place has the best sushi I have ever had. Would reccomd.
We had the best meal and the best service in Minneapolis. We love Sushi and their menu is fresh and I dare say the Miso soup is the best in the Cities. We also have tried their brunch menu and was very good and the Eggs Benedict was NOT ladened with sauce to mask the flavor.
