I ate at the restaurant for the first time today and it did bring back memories of the many times I was there as a teenager and ate at the Soda Fountain. The Food was very good and the prices were reasonable.
The food here is made from down home recipes and the flavor is good but nothing unique or special. There are lunch specials daily and dinner specials throughout the week like steaks on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and Catfish on Fridays and Saturdays. The portions are fairly large... enough to split.
The restaurant itself occupies the historic Millar Drug Store near the corner of Main Street and Center street in Grand Prairie. The inside is adorned with memorabilia and photos from "back in the day" including enlargements of President Kennedy's visit and procession from Meachem to Dallas down historic highway 80 (Division to Main to Davis) and school pictures from Grand Prairie High School.
