User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsA real disappointment. We read through the other reviews and with the glowing reports from most of the reviewers we really looked forward to eating here. The first disappointment came when I asked for my usual drink (since we don't drink alcohol,) a Tamarind soda. They don't have Tamarind soda. Then I asked if they had Mexican Coke or any other Mexican soft drinks. Nope.
The dinners came and were fine; not spectacular but OK. However, the dessert was disappointment #2. I was amazed to see sopaipillas on the dessert menu, so I ordered them. Since we spend quite a bit of time in New Mexico I was really looking forward to the warm pillows with honey and powdered sugar that we know so well. What came were some cold, almost rancid crusty something-or-other things with some brownish drizzle on them. I couldn't get past half of the first one, and sent the rest back.
It would be awfully nice to have a good Mexican restaurant near where we live, in Methuen. However, next time we'll just go to Cafe Azteca in Lawrence, like we have numerous times in the past, where we have never been disappointed. 2 stars minus for this place.-

The food here is great! I love their soup "campeche" if your into shrimp & octopus, this is definately a must have. I love the family atmosphere here as well. What I would like to see is mariachi's performing here. It's such a nice authentic mexican restaurant that I think a mariachi band would add a nice touch. Que viva Mexico!!!

Warning to those who don't live in Methuen: It is a bit hard to find it, so if you don't live in Methuen you may just pass it. Service is great here and so is the price. The waitstaff cannot do enough for you. Food is good, but not the best Mexican I've ever had. I've never had a bad meal, I just prefer a bit more spice to my food. If you do want to get drinks, get the single margaritas. I have ordered the pitcher and I find they "water down" the booze.... or maybe I'm just a lush (lol).
If you want a decent meal for little money and a happy staff I would recommend Mexico Lindo in Methuen.
