The food is a bit spicy but very good and made from scratch; I loved the homemade cole slaw, smoked chicken salad with the jalapeno corn bread. The portions are large and well worth the price.
Their new location is small relaxed and bluesy; I love the live blues on the weekends. The staff is a little too relaxed but if you don’t mind getting up to get what, you’ll love it!
We stopped in and got the brisket (which was basically pulled beef!) and the pulled pork. He has only one kind of sauce. I loved it, but it was a little spicy for my husband. We agreed that the pork was the best. My husband had the beans and thought they were OK. I had the collards and they were OK. I'll back, often, for the pork. They also have the meat in wraps if you want something handy for lunch.
One drawback - it's really just take-out as it's in a mini-mart in a tiny strip mall, so there isn't a pleasant place to sit and eat. But since it's on the way home, no problemo.
They sell this stuff out of a little minute mart. You can see the huge barbecue outside. The guy who owns it has all his Mom or Grandmas recipes and makes everything from scratch.....baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and awesome ribs. I stopped in by accident and it is well worth it!!
