Two of my children have gone through the preschool program. The director is a wonderful lady and enjoys the children and her work. We are sad we had to move away.
I LOVE this school! My daughter can't wait to go to school every day. My daughter has special learning needs (moderate hearing loss) and the teachers are handling it really well and my daughter is thriving. The teacher really cares about each child as an individual. With the Montessori classroom, my daughter is learning to be a caring, independent child. She's learning things like table manners, how to hang up her own coat, how to pour herself a cup of juice, and how to be respectful of her school and our home by cleaning up after herself when she has snack. Tell me they teach those skills in other pre-schools. It's nice to have school reinforce what I'm teaching at home! She's also doing all of the other important pre school skills like counting, she knows the alphabet, and is writing her name well. All at 4 years old. I am very pleased with this school, and my daughter will be back next year!
I would not send a child of mine to this preschool. The director is always yelling at the kids and is very controlling. Parents are discouraged from entering the classroom and are even told not to help their children with coats and shoes. This director seems to not even like the children and she has no real concept about what Montessori Education should look like let alone preschool education in general.

I am a very happy parent of a child at Rainier View Montessori. Ironically this review was written right after a teacher quit this school to start her own school. I asssume she wrote this review because she is now competing with this school. This teacher was cold and unenthusiastic and we were happy to see her leave. My daughter is once again thriving now that that teacher is gone. The director of the school is warm ,energetic, enthusiastic, lovable and kind. She encourages the students to do things for themselves (hang up jackets and put on shoes)but never makes them feel badly if they cannot do it after putting in a good effort. I have spent many hours in the classroom and I am always encourgaged to peek in and see what they are up to.
