About:The Edison - A Return To The Old World Glamour of Downtown Los Angeles The Edison presents a brilliant marriage of refined industrial architecture and art deco chic. The grand staircase of cantilevered concrete and steel spectacularly descends into the depths of the 11,000 square feet of space, culminating in a moody melange of ambers and reds set against furnishings reflecting the turn of the century. The Edison speaks to the nostalgia of the time with restored artifacts and silent video montage that revisit the early work of film legends. The Edison revives the classic hand crafted cocktail with live music & floor show entertainment, an intimate menu of upscale cocktail cuisine, and house DJs. WORST customer service I've ever paid so much for.

Pro - retro atmosphere, occasional sexy dancers, occasional cheap promos.

    CONS

Overpriced food and drinks, even during happy hour.

No matter how much money you've already spent, you must spend an additional $25 per person if you want to sit down at a table.

Your waitress, Veronica, will forbid you from ordering from others.

She will then IGNORE you after your first order (she's busy with real table customers)

You will have to get the right sauce for your food from the busboy

Your food is cold by the time you get it

You will have to get a glass of water from another busboy

Which you asked for an hour ago from your waitress, Veronica.

An 18% service fee will be added to your tab.

You will be polite but clear when you express your dissatisfaction.

Veronica will spit "That's fine" at you.

Barbara, the general manager, will pretend to listen to you.

She will then cut you off with "I'm busy" and leave.

John, the manager, will clean up Veronica and Barbara's mess by being the only person possessing any professional courtesy in the entire establishment.

John will apologize for the attitude you have paid to endure this evening, and take off the 18% service fee (if you weren't dumb enough to pay it already).

Veronica will then talk behind your back to the bouncers, pointing and glaring at you from across the room.

You will nod at her to be polite, but she will turn her head away haughtily, showing you her back.

You cannot say it is an unfamiliar sight.

Just went here for the first time Saturday night. Absolutely gorgeous place! If you're looking for something different than the same ole LA bar/lounge you must go here. Its the classiest bar I've been to in LA. Do yourself a favor and reserve a table ahead of time. That way, you can walk around, check out all the different rooms, and always have your table to come back to! When we arrived at 8pm it was fairly empty. We strolled around and checked the decor out. An hour or so later, it was packed with people. We were really glad we had a reserved table. The food was good as well - we tried the sampler, the lobster dogs, the kobe sliders, the fries, and the really yummy cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. It was so nice to be surrounded by nicely dressed people - I miss that! Oh, and the beautiful burlesque dancer that pranced around on top of the bar once an hour was fantastic. Check out The Edison....you won't be disappointed.
