Really a cut above the rest! Based on a family member's rave reviews, I hired Nonna's to make and deliver my wedding and groom's cakes back in January. Being a "low-maintenance" bride, I only gave Nonna's a vague impression of the sort of cakes I liked. Well, they took my ambiguous descriptions and ran with them! Is it weird to think back on your wedding cakes as the best part of your reception? The wedding cake itself was utterly unique and breathtaking, not to mention delicious beyond anything I've ever tasted. The Groom's cake was chocolate doberge that surpassed any doberge in my experience. (and being from New Orleans I've had my share of doberge) Really, I cannot recommend this place more strongly, it was a perfect, positive experience from start to finish...

I hesitate to write a review, only because I want to keep this secret to myself. This place is phenomenal. Their staff is awesome. It appears to be family and friends working there, and you can tell they genuinely want you to have a great experience and that they are invested in the business's sucess. Their menu is huge considering the size of the kitchen. Real paninis, huge salads, delicious personal pizzas, superb soups, awesome salad dressings, and fresh bread brought to your table! All items on the menu are under $10, unless you add a meat to your salad, with the average cost at $7. The price is VERY reasonable, especially considering the quality AND quanity of what you get. There are a few issues, but it has nothing to do with the staff or food. The layout is weird and traffic-inducing. You order and pay on the right side of all the display cases, which are all towards the front. This right side is the hallway that also leads to the bathroom, so during the lunch rush, it is quite congested. (The better thing for them to do would be to move the counter to the middle, and have a display case on the side.) Also, it is not huge inside, so there is only seating for about 15-20, if that. They have a huge couch and some chairs around a fireplace, and about five tables. The ambience is more coffee house than eatery, but with the incredible food they are turning out, they need to expand or rethink the table situation. (So even the negatives at this place are positives!) If you plan on eating there, get a seat before 12:15 for lunch. If I could, I would eat lunch there everyday. It is nice to have an alternative in the midst of all the fast food in that area of 190. They also have catering services, which I am very eager to try. Being that there are few places on the Northshore to get good catering from, I am hoping Nonna's is here to stay.
