Michaels' Restaurant and Catering

I was looking for a special place to celebrate my husband's birthday and wanted to try Michael’s Restaurant and Catering after reading a favorable write-up in the paper recently. It’s not much to look at on the outside (“Where are you taking me?” he said), but it’s what’s inside that counts. Our reserved table was surprisingly decorated with “birthday” confetti. The menu was full of decadent choices, and the birthday boy had his choice of 2 complimentary desserts. Chef Michael later made his rounds and spoke to each of his patrons that night. Everything was so delicious and artfully served. We were very impressed. I know you will enjoy it too for those special occasions when Chili’s just won’t do and you want to try something different than the Mount Dora fare. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

By far the best restaurant in Central Florida! I love to cook and love food and Michaels' is the only restaurant my husband and I have found that we find worth our time. The food is fresh and never pre-packaged. The crab cakes are amazing and the steak literally melts in your mouth!! Ruth's Chris can't even touch this one. The service is good. You can have a nice lunch or a very elegant dinner where no one is pressing you to leave. They let you take your time. Selection on the menu is outstanding and the prices are normal. My husband and I are addicted.

Oh my! I thought I was in a nice restaurant in France again. Fresh food, beautiful presentation and not far from Altoona. Moved here from a larger city, and know that sometimes the best restaurants are not always the prettiest outside, so don't let the modest exterior fool you. I must say that I was impressed. Chef Michael even came out to meet us and do a quality assurance check. We'll be back!!
