User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI bought a kayak at this store today and I was very happy with my experience. The owner was very helpful and knowledgable. He spent a lot of time with me and was very patient and I felt no pressure to buy. Rather than try to sell me an expensive boat, he genuinely seemed to want to find a boat that was right for me, a beginner at kayaking. His prices are very fair and significantly lower than 2 very large, big-name competitors in CT. (I know because I checked online after I bought my new kayak.)

We rented kayaks this past weekend for kayaking on the Bantam River. Dave dropped off and picked up the kayaks, so we stopped off at the store in the afternoon and followed him to the river. The delivery was a little delayed (understandable since it was a gorgeous Labor Day weekend and the store was busy), but the afternoon went great. Dave was helpful in suggesting nice kayaking locations in the area, and was even willing to pick up the kayaks after the store had closed.

My family bought a kayak and assorted accessories at Connecticut Outdoors earlier this summer. The service cannot be beat. From the minute we walked in the door to delivery of our kayak, we received excellent service and advice and were made to feel like family. And it was fun, too! I'd highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a kayak or canoe. Thanks for all the help and advice. I look forward to doing business with you again soon.
