Went here on our anniversay, host asked us if we had reservations (no one was there). Nice location, nice historic house, romantic setting. We were allowed to look around as well. Husbands steak was average. I had fish and it was really good.
Most annoyed with waiter guy. He was very presumptious, assuming he knew what we wanted, mabye by sterotyping the way we looked, as in finishing our sentences, most irritating.
Wow we almost stepped back into napa California. Excellent service! Terrific food. gorgeous presentation. My husband and I almost gave up in St. Clair County for good food. We are picky, having nothing but the best from growing up near Napa Ca.It is refreshing to have great food in the Midwest. It was nice to know the restaurant actually cared what we thought about their food and what could be improved.Atmosphere was great. Ambience absolute! I can not say anything bad about this restaurant.
These guys definitely know what they are doing! From seafood to steaks, they have great food that is extremely well prepared with a great deal of care.
The seafood is of note not only because they have it flown in fresh, but because they actually know how to prepare it. Some options are quite complex (the rare Ahi Tuna is one of my favorites), but they also offer simpler preparations from pan seared to broiled.
The steaks are also wonderful, with exceptional cuts of meat and an extensive list of optional sauces. The roasted garlic demi glace is wonderful, as is the port wine reduction.
Top it off with a dessert (made on the premise, as I'm told) and you have a wonderful meal in a beautiful atmosphere. We no longer have to cross the river to dine in style. Thanks Paulo!
