I began working with this company on 4/30/2009. It has be challenging due to a critical illness I had a few years ago that resulted in credit issues. I worked relentlessly to resolve these, even paying debts that were not ours to in sure this loan would proceed. Doing that sounds crazy, but being almost three months trying to close this deal I did not have any more time to dispute. I increased my husbands credit score over 100 points. I was told repeatedly that "we do this loans all the time, at the end of the day it will close". Just last week we thought it was about to happen, when I received an email by the broker that they had license in only 5 states and KY was not one of them (the state in which we live). He advised that there was nothing he could do and suggested I find someone locally. Again, after pleading with the real estate agent and owner of the property to be patient we were told this would close. I did attempt to seek financing localy to only discover that United Mortgage had pulled our credit 20+ times and the scores were not where we were told they were. I attempted to contact the broker not only by phone but email as well and he would not return my calls. I have cried for days, we have lost the contract with this home. The stress of what we have had to deal with is unbelievable. Not only this but during this time I have to deal with my 75 year old father battling cancer in VA hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, but my 49 year old sister undergoing her second open heart surgery in less than 2 yrs and has been on life support for over 2 weeks. By all means my family is much more important, but all of this happened after I attempted to purchase a home for my family. I lost everything I had worked for (and I worked for 28 years) when I was diagnoised with advanced bladder and kidney cancer. My children lost the security of a home and we have had to move repeatedly. This was the hope for my children to have the security of having there own home again. How could a company with having the license to practice in only 5 states not know that Ky was not one of them, while working a loan for almost 3 months. I did finally respond to my email, telling that (I assume I upset him with the message I sent to him) that he was willing to help untill he read my emails. My question to him was, "how could you help if your company lost the license in KY and stated his company refuse to pay the $1000 to have them reinstated and file the paper work that KY required). I am totaly heart broke and cannot believe that this can be done. I was the one that fought with the collection company obtaining proof of items that appeared on the credit report, paying old debts and again debts that were not ours to try to get this done. I had the companies fax him documentation that these were either paid and/or would request deletion from the credit bureaus. He only told me that when he received the letters he would fax them to the cbr's for an update. I had no idea he was pulling a report each time. Maybe someone will read this and can give me some help or advise. I am mentally and physically drained. In addition to my family illness while attempting to do this I was hospitalized. I am also receiving treatment for the disease in which I suffer. Should someone not have known before a 3 month period that they could not serve a particular state. Now where do I go and what do I do. I did send an email which he made me feel stupid stating that I was sadly mistaken if I thought the inquires hurt this loan process. I guess I am the fool I trusted him till the end. I have even requested for the documentation that was faxed to him from these agencies and he will not. Is that not our information. I have researched the Federal Trade Commission to file a formal complaint. If a mortgage company is in the business, you would think this information would be something even an entry level agent would know.
