The Center was established in January 1968, by the local Mental Health Association, in conjunction with the county commissioners in the counties that are served. The Center is a community supported facility that was organized under Kansas Law and is governed by a Board of Governors composed of citizens from each of the four participating counties and includes consumer and family members' representation. The Center is staffed by professional trained mental health personnel and serves all residents of Barton, Rice, Stafford and Pawnee Counties, regardless of age, race, creed or income level. Less
