I was looking for a good place to take my daughter to get her first haircut. There were only three businesses here in San Antonio that specialized in children's haircuts, and I liked how this one looked on the website. It's quite far from where we live and I wish there was one closer...because we got a little lost. When we got there the place was just soo cute and not overly crowded. They had alot of toys not seen in many other stores and the set up of the shop was just so appealing. They called my daughter very quickly and even asked what kind of video she would like to watch. Btw she sat in the purple Barbie Jeep. The lady was very patient and even offered her a lollipop because she was resistant. There was even a man who came over to calm her down by blowing bubbles for her and she loved it...he was like a miracle worker. He was very determined also, to get a good picture of my daughter after her haircut. He even took her to the back room where they do the Mani-Pedi's and parties to try and get a better picture. I was even allowed to video tape. I was very pleased with the service we recieved and how patient and friendly the staff was. We chose the First baby haircut package which was around 23 dollars, and you'd get a locket of hair, a certificate, and a picture. I would definetly come back and recommend it to anyone wanting to get their child's haircut. I will be going back for sure.
Wow, I have never had such a wonderful experience in getting my son's haircut. He is usually a terror and we tell him that we are going to go "play games." So we decided that we'd give Sharkey's Cuts For Kids a try. It was a busy Saturday and we came in around lunch time. The nice lady at the front desk set us up with an appointment about 45 minutes later so we went and had lunch. We came back and Brandon hopped straight into the Fighter Jet and turned on the guns. He had Bob the Builder on the TV and although he wasn't perfect, he was much better than I'd ever seen him before. The stylist worked with us and especially him to make him comfortable. The haircut was great and he even got a chance to go drive Lightning McQueen on the Wii the in game room. We will definitely be back, he's already wanting to get another Shark tattoo.
I tried this place as an alternative to "Cool Cuts for Kids" in he Vineyard because I did not think they did avery good job cutting my daughter's hair. Well, at least those people are very nice and treat your child and you kindly. The person who took us was quite annoyed that we came for a haircut. I asked for a bob for my daughter without shaving her neck. She said that would be too difficult and cut my daugter's hair for about an 1/2 inch which I had to insist for more and no shaving was needed. When she was supposedly done I asked her to dry her hair since the hair was very wet and outside was cold, she said it was $12.95 for drying.
I complained about this and my difficulty to the man at the front desk. He neither apologized nor gave me an explanation but told me drying the hair is not $12.95.
The haircut was $18.95. When we got home I found pieces that were not cut the same length as the rest. I definitely do not recommend this place. At least avoid the 20-25 year old brunette with glasses. She is neither good in what she does nor polite. Additionally, the towels they used looked a little iffy to me. She dropped a towel on the floor and did not throw it in the hamper.

I really don't know how you could have such a bad experience here, when everyone else had a great one.
