User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSome of the best pulled pork I've ever eaten. Located right on Gilliam-McConnell airfield in Carthage, N.C. 53 aircraft flew in for lunch one Saturday in January. Service is excellent. Open T-Sat., 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday 12 noon to 3:00 P.M. Closed Mondays. Often crowded with locals, a good sign of good food.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis place is really unique. It is right next to a samll airstrip so you can watch the planes land and take off.
The BBQ is Carolina style, and you add your own sauce to it. The portions are mighty and this is the best Q I have ever had. On Sat you have to call ahead and reserve your ribs, they are gone by 2pm.
Homemade desserts end a perfect meal. A note, right now, cash or check no credit cards.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe live a good ways away but I have family in that area. The kids love the fact it is by a small lit airport so that people can fly in and eat. The building itself has history behind it. The owners have no problem working it and that is what they do. The food is great NO FRIED FOODS, That is a plus and it is so goooood. MUST TRY
