HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! I know that I've said it three times and it still isn't enough! I went in for a UV Gel French Manicure and Pedicure ($80) package. While I was sitting in the pedicure chair having my feet done a gentleman began working on my fingernails. He had completed the majority of my left hand when my pedicure was complete and he asked me to move to his station. He proceeded to use an electric filing tool on my right hand. I asked him why he didn't use that particular tool on my left hand and he laughed and said "because there is no electrical outlet near the pedicure chairs"). I've heard excuses, BUT? He proceeded to draw the white tips on my nails and they were drawn halfway down my nail. About one-half of my nail was the natural flesh color and the rest was a white tip. I looked like a freak! I explained that I wanted white on the TIP on my nail, not halfway down. He took that as meaning I wanted the nails to extend longer out. I had daggers. It was horrible. I also asked him why he didn't push my cuticles back and cut them if I wished (EVERY other salon I've ever been to ALWAYS asks) and he said "because they don't do that because they don't need it". Can you imagine? I finally got the RUDE receptionist to come over and I explained everything in detail. She sat down, pulled my finger (really pulled it) and got a nail clipper and said how short do you want it? It was very distasteful. They had to remove all of the mess that the male manicurist did and start over. I was there for a total of four hours. I had to cancel an appt. with a client. Two girls had to work on my hands as closing time was nearing. I tipped the two girls that re-did the job, the gal that gave me the pedicure and the gal that gave me the massage that was included when you get a manicure and/or pedicure. I went up to the counter and the again horrible receptionist said "pay now" -- $80.00. I asked for a reduction in price as I had to cancel my appt. with my client and I spent four hours there (my time is valuable too!) I began making out my check and asked her for a reduction in price. She said the best she could do was $70. Honestly, I was way to exhausted and annoyed to argue. She asked me if I had a credit card and I said yes, and then I said "do you or do you not accept personal checks"? She said yes so I proceeded to tell her that obviously that was how I was be paying. She asked me to make the check out to cash. I told her that I would make it out to the establishment that serviced me. She then said "We like it made out to cash so if it bounces we can redeposit it without being charged" (??) Yep, that is what she said! So, she was telling me that she expected my check was going to bounce. I was irrate! I went out the door and reminded her of one more thing...The massage gal never washed her hands after servicing the client before me. I am most certain that is against Health Dept. Code AND wanting me to issue my check to cash is also evading state tax, isn't it??? BAD, BAD, BAD news -- did I make that clear enough. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Tahiti'a spa -- FAR AWAY!!!

I had the most terrible experience ever at Tahiti'a Spa Stamford. I purchased a $70.00 massage and pedicure package on a Friday and told the manicurist that this is a gift for my mother and that I would be back in 20 minutes. I asked the manicurist to hold the gift certificate so that my mother will not be able to see the price of the package and she thoughtfully did. When my mother arrived, the massage therapist took her right in. I asked if everything was ok because I was on my way back to work and they all replied, "Yes, everything is ok." Can you believe that they charged my mother an extra $10.00 and never gave her the pedicure?!!!! I am very furious and will never return. This store only cares about taking their clients money, instead of being loyal to their customers. I will never recommend this store to anyone nor be a customer to any Tahiti’a Spa again!

I agree with K. I was given a pkg, with tip included. They told me I owed another $10.00. There was no expiration on any of the paperwork. I purchased a $70.00 UV Gel manicure. They did pedicure and most of manicure while I was in the pedicure chair, There was something wrong with the massage unit, so I was bouncing all around. They finished my manicure at the table, but put me in the massage chair to do the 15 min massage while they finished my nails. When I went to pay they told me I wed $125.00 They tried to tell me I didn't have a gift card. After arguing they charged me $70.00 for the UV Gel Manicure, an extra $10.00 for the gift card and another $5.00 for I don't know what. I gave them a generous tip. My UV Gel was a manicure and I was entitled to a manicure with the gift card. So I paid a second time for the manicure. Also my UV came with a free pedicure, but I never went back. And I never will. Also, I was the only customer in the shop.

I've had both good and bad experiences at Tahiti'a Spa. I don't know why their service/customer care is so uneven, but after my last experience ther I will not return. I don't know if they've had a change in ownership or management but the first couple of visits I made were wonderful and the last two were awful.
