It was this time last year when this company did something we will never forget. We were one of the couples that got ripped off from Granite Tops, a company that came in from out of town (MI) with some slick advertising and showroom. We gave them full price down on new granite counter tops and never saw them or our money again. Our story was on the local news and New Stone Age saw it, and that it was going to be our Christmas present to each other. They got a local granite wholesaler to donate the stone and they donated the fabricatoin and installation and put in our new beautiful granite countertops. We love these guys, they asked for no publicity but we have spread a lot of good 'word of mouth'...
As advertised, exceptional service, exceptional quality and we love our kitchen now... Great value and the smartest thing we've ever done to our home..
BUYER BEWARE!!! This merchant promissed a refund of my $1600 deposit since nothing had been started on the job and I learned I was losing my job. He said, and I quote "no problem losing this sale. I will process your refund". Over a month went by and no refund was processed. He sent me an email stating that "he couldn't process my refund because business was not good right now and other customers were not paying for their completed jobs." He was keeping my money! I had to file a fraud charge with my credit card company to get it back. He's still charging bogus unauthorized charges to my card to this date. DO NOT GIVE THIS MERCHANT YOUR CREDIT CARD NO. - NO TELLING WHAT HE'LL CHARGE TO YOUR CARD LATER WHEN YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION!!

Real simple, we would never charge anyone for work we did not do. Never would we do that, and of course if we did we would not be in business for long. This person was not a Counter Top customer of ours, she did order a job, she did collect a $100 free gift card we offered her as incentive for the sale, and we did perform her template and a fair amount of AutoCad editing work. After a few days she cancelled her order and wanted a full refund of her deposit, along with keeping the $100 gift card. We did not think that was exactly fair but we did go ahead and write off the $100 gift card but logically we charged for our template/edit work. This is the so called 'bogus unauthorized charge' she protested to her credit card company. We got the notice on this and we could have (and in hind sight now should have) faxed to the CC company her signed customer agreement and the charge would have remained positive, but we were tired of dealing with it; those few dollars were not worth the hassle we were getting form this fairly unethical person.
