My husband and I recently returned from a week in Kona (1/12/09). During our stay we were advised to try the Fish Hopper and are glad that we did. We ate at the restaurant 3 times including our last night. The service and food are excellent. Our server, Michael, as great; very professional and unobtrusive. The food was excellent and a very good bargain. Please try the Pokie for a nice surprise. We are looking forward to our return trip next year and seeing our friend Michael and enjoying really good dining.
We were in Kona last week and went to the Fish Hopper 4 times. Twice for lunch and twice for dinner. The food was excellent and the service was great. The staff were always courteous and extremely helpful. They acknowledged you as soon as you came to the front and seated you promptly. Joel was especially friendly and helpful making sure everything was going okay. We were always lucky to get the tables with the fantastic view of the ocean. If you think you might want to go to the Fish Hopper in Kona rest assured you will be treated great and the food could not be better.
The best restaurant we found on the Big Island. Drinks, food and service all excellent. The mahi-mahi encrusted with macadamia nuts was wonderful, and this comes from a guy who iusually prefers a steak over seafood. The dessert tray impressed my family even more than the entrees.
