Kit Carson is the most upfront, honest person I know. He is an excellent plumber and will not steer a customer wrong. If the job cannot be done as requested or with parts purchased by the client, he will try to use them; but if they cannot be used, he will tell you so and walk away without any charge for his time and gas. Don't expect miracles from parts you purchased without consulting him first to find out if that sink or vanity you desire will fit in your location! Many times it will not and you will have to pick an alternate solution.
The community needs more plumbers and honest individuals like Kit Carson Plumbing!
I hired Mr Carson to install two comodes and two sinks with vanities. I purchased all the supplies from a local building supply. When he arrived he said he thought the commodes would be ok but he wasn't sure the vanities would fit. The current sinks were wall mounted. I told him I measured from the facet centered and it looked like it would fit to me. He remeasured and then said it would probably be ok. I had to leave for about 15 minutes. When I got back he had removed the commode in one bathroom and had the bowl of the new commode installed but he said the tank would not fit due to the tile thickness and therefore I needed a 10inch offset on the commode rather than the 12inch I had bought. He had also gone into the other bath and removed the sink. Since the base tile was about 1/4 inch thicker than the wall tile he said he would have to get his saw and trim about 1/4 inch off the back edge of the vanity. I said ok and told him I had to go next door. When I returned about 15 minutes later I saw his truck leaving my driveway. I assumed he needed a part or a tool that he didn't have. When I walked into the second bath where he had removed the sink I found the following note:
I am just spinning my wheels - not accomplishing anything. Your vanity cabinets will have to have the back toe plate moved in some, then the back leading edges of the cabinet cut away about 1/4 inch to allow for the extra width of the base tile. A router would be the ideal tool. The toe back plate requires tools I do not have also finishing nails and a bit of paint. I lossened the commode - you will need 10 inch rough commodes. sorry, just one of those things one runs into somes times. Kit
Can you imagine what I am thinking. This man came in my house, proceeded to make both bathrooms inoperable, left my house open, shrewn with parts, boxes and other matter - and just left, with a sink laying in my front yard. When I got him on the phone he began telling me why none of the appliances I bought would work. I told him I understood that but how could he come in my house make this mess and walk off and leave it. I couldn't use either of my bathrooms. Then he says to me this is what happens when you have a home owner who does not know what he is doing. I said Mr Carson you are right when it comes to plumbing I don't know what I am doing, that is why I hired you. Then he says I am tired of messing with you so can just get someone else to do the work. No joke. I can only imagine this man doing this to some elderly person who would be totally unable to help themselves. My advise, don't even consider this invididual , Kit Carson, for any plumbing work.

Hi Folks: This is Kit, the plumber who was so bad in the above comment. I am not one to carry tales or say a whole lot or try to harm others at any time, but in my defense I would simply like to say: Mr. Clyde Dawdy is not wrong in what he has said, just that he has left out a few things. Yes I told him I was done with him and sincerely mean this. Mr. Dawdy who was upset over the purchase of items that were not compatible with the required installation, simply told me I was not a plumber, he did not really know what I was(ha) but certainly not a plumber!! I think I told him he was right, I am just an office worker, used to be a garbage man, but decided to be a plumber, heard the make lots of money!! Mr. Dawdy really did not wish a resolution to the situation, but was much more concerned with insulting me and going into a rant. Several solutions were explained to him, but he would have none of this, he was more intent on busting my chops and ranting. Quite simply when a customer becomes totally argumentative and only wishes to fight, and rant on and on, and was still ranting when I told him I was done with him, what can you do? I simply told him we are evidently not going to get along, best you get another professional over here and finish the situation. Mr. Dawdy was not charged a dime, and I never said an unkind word to him, I just let him rant, and was done with him. My viewpoint of the whole thing. Take Care. Kit
