I got married here in the hottest time of the yr in Texas. That is difficult and everyone at the chapel helped make it a wonderful experience for me and my husband. We are a young adult couple with kids before we decided to get married. We needed a budget friendly and reasonable time to pay our way to have a great traditional family wedding. The officiant was very personable and the whole family loved it very much. If you want a Paris Hilton type wedding this may be a place you don't want to consider. Reading bad reviews for this place means that they are bridezillas and need more money for a princess wedding. But if you want small, personable, and memorable experience then this is the place to go. You want flashy celebrity type wedding make sure your dad or fiance is a millionaire and stop crying like a little girl. I love this place and it won't ever go anywhere or shut down. If it's 100 yr old place, hopefully in it's 130 yr anniversary my children may consider to marry there to start a tradition of our own. Thank you special moments and we love you all.
We were pretty disappointed with nearly everything... I would NOT recommend this facility to get married..... I would have gone somewhere else if I had it to do all over again.
My name is Carolyn Brister, owner of Special Moments Chapel. Every great once in a while we have a group that is not happy with the level of service that we provided. It generally revolves around some type of misunderstanding about what is included in our package or alcohol and we are always very saddened when it happens. I wish I had more information so that I could respond to the specific concerns this group encountered. But I'd invite you to please check out all the very positive reviews we have received on the weddingwire.com website.
As a fellow business owner that works with wedding venues across the Dallas Fort Worth area I would like to tell you about Carolyn & her staff at the Special Moments Wedding Chapel. After meeting Carolyn & spending time with her I've occasionallly work with her brides by supplying them with their flowers. I've stayed & helped a few times to just get a feel for the business. The staff is one of the most conscientious groups I've worked with by making sure the bride & groom have everything they need, keeping everything on time, providing a very clean & beautifully decorated facility. I do know other locations who are all about the money just to book events but you will not find that at Special Moments. Carolyn works very hard to maintain a respectful & gracious staff & her business always reflects this. I've been in business for more than 30 years & know this is the most important day for a bride & groom. Having said that I will share with you that this is the one day that something might happen beyond your control & most wedding planners will tell you that something always happens. For me, it's mother nature whether it be weather effecting growing of a certain flower or raining on the day of the event. I have seen so many crazy things happen like the Bridesmaid loosing the grooms ring or just an unneccessary thing like the limo never showing up to take the bride & groom away with style. Cakes are dropped, speakers blow & yes even Pastors say the wrong name during a wedding. If you want a beautiful wedding with a staff that is kind to everyone they incounter & fulfill your every need call Carolyn & make an appointment to talk to her. There are 2 sides to every story. I personally remember my senior class yearbook, where I couldn't find my picture. They had spelled my name wrong, in over 1500 books. Big deal for me 35 years ago for about a week but it didn't affect the big picture, I graduated.
