Cat Tattoo by www.tattoobody.org
The symbolic meaning of the cat varies wildly across the globe and through time. It has been an ill omen in Japan, a stoic that is unmoved by the death of the BUDDHA in Buddhism, the form of a beneficent goddess in Egypt (BASTET), a creature distrusted by the Celts, given seven lives by Muslims, a symbol of cunning for the Pawnee of North America, and attributed with clairvoyant behavior in central Africa. Today, cat imagery in tattoo is dominated by depictions of household pets. As pets, we associate them with playfulness, some aloofness, and a great deal of affection. As seen in the animals themselves, their images span the great variety of the species, in both form and color.

If this is the place that is now called human canvas, here is my experience with them. I gave the guy (Justin i think) the picture of what i wanted him to draw. He said it would be about a week and to come back, so I came back a week later. He then said it would be a few more days and he hadn't gotten to it yet and that I should make an appointment because that would motivate him to have it drawn by a deadline. I told him I did not feel comfortable making an appointment until I could have somewhat of an idea what it was going to look like, as this would be my first tattoo. I called and came in a couple more times when he'd say he still hadn't had time and almost a month later from when he said he'd have the sketch, he finally produced a sketch that looked like he set a paper on the picture and traced it, and I understand that a lot of the tattoo would be shading work and that he was just drawing the outline, but I seriously do not see how he could have possibly spent more than a minute working on the drawing. This was all just a huge waste of time and I am very glad I did not let him put anything permanent on me.
