Do yourself a favor and go to Kess's for dinner. The place is very cute with antique plates, small tables and a corner fireplace. The menu is really impressive, only to be topped by the actual meal when it arrives.
Our waitress was great too.

It is not very impressive from the outside ... but don't judge a book by its cover, walk in and order something! Kess's has everything you want in a night out, fun ambiance, great service and a phenomenal meal.

As a rule I usually don’t make much of a fuss over meals I have eaten at a restaurant. Typically my wife and I will eat out at least once or twice a week. We dine at both commercial and privately owned establishments throughout CT, though we both prefer the personal touches of the privately owned.

A year ago I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall restaurant called Kess Café in Southington (downtown Plantsville). I was immediately impressed w/ the relaxing old world atmosphere & charm.
The meals were all extremely low in price and there was not one entrée that was over priced by any means. I kind of expected the price to reflect the meal and to my EXTREAM amazement the meal came to our table and it looked as if it belonged in a food magazine and the taste was nothing short of pure magic.!!!
My wife and I have made several return visits since that day and we can honestly admit that we have NEVER tasted such an unbelievably out of this world cuisine anywhere like we have at this little place. I swear every time we leave there in awe and spend the entire car ride home talking about our meals. Once again me and my wife are not overly impressed by most places and we are certainly not the kind of people who post about it on Yahoo ~lol
To anyone who has champagne taste on a beer budget this is your place. Bottom line~ If you’re unimpressed and tired of the same old same old when you go out to dinner, I highly recommend this place for a truly rare & wonderful dinning experience from start to finsh

Wonderful ambience, friendly knowledgable waitstaff and the food........oh, my so delicious. A treat in every way!
