User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI have been eating and drinking at the Gym since it opened. Here is the good part: the bar girls are friendly, attractive, and give very good service. And tons of tv's if you're there for the sports.
But the food is (except the bacon scallops) terrible, and the table service is spotty at best, usually pretty poor. Last night I ordered chicken nachos (how can you screw that up, right?). they arrived at least 10 minutes later with--no chicken. And they were burnt to a crisp--all the cheese was burned black and the chips were inedible. I sent it back, it was replaced, this time with actual chicken. And the Dos Equiis was pretty flat. Management needs to remember that it is not the only game in town, now that all the development is happening north of Johnson Ranch. I won't mention any competitors' names here because I'm not a shill, but there ARE better alternatives just to the north of JR. Every other restaurant at the Gym's strip mall has died. Gym had better get in gear if it doesn't want to be next. Wake up, management.-

Not sure how long the new chef has been there. I think his name is Eric? Amazing food! He went out of his way and came out of the kitchen to make sure my food was perfect and talk to other tables. Very nice touch. Finally a real chef that cares!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been to the Gym Several times and not only is it a great place to go watch ANY sporting events, but they have incredible food.
The Smoker sitting outside really gets you drooling when you first drive up and it doesn't stop from there.
They are also great people there. I met them through the BBQ Circuit here in Arizona as they compete, quite successfully on.
They really have huge hearts over there and always support the community.
I Highly Recommend their new Smoked Wings. They are incredible.
Great job guys, I can't wait to visit your new locations.
