just stay home this place is horrible you would be better off to eat the ribs at burger king this place is a jokelike there staff and there semi retarded bartenders you want good italian eat elizabeths this place really doesnt cut it unless you want crappy service even for a bar this place stinks
We ate at Carmines in October and the experience was terrible. The service was the worst i have ever received - the server apparantly thought they were better than they actually were - the food was certainly not gourmet / fine dining as advertised - i could have gotten better Italian food at another italian chain with much better service and far more reasonably price. The whole evening was a joke - they need to step up their game and the quality of food - or just stick to being a bar and club - which they do very well.
They over price and under deliver - a real shame !!!
Horrible!! We went to Carmine's the middle of July 2008. Were seated in what we thought would be a great seat, but it was HOT! The water boy was excellent - he worked hard to make sure our glasses were filled. The server was awful. She seemed eager at first, but then we rarely saw her. Ordered wine that she suggested. She came back with a different bottle and said that they were sold out of the other. Said that she searched all around to find the bottle she located to replace the one she suggested. It was the last bottle and weren't we lucky. (btw, on our way out of the restaurant we noticed 2 other tables with the same "last bottle" wine she brought us. another thing was we listened to the server at another table who told his customers they didn't have the wine they had requested but he had found another great bottle. our server's excuse was they only order wine once a week (does wine go bad?! NO!) Back to the meal. I ordered grilled salmon with sauteed spinach and polenta cakes. It arrived. I noticed the salmon, but no spinach I asked the server, she said, "oh, you're right. i'll take care of that right away." In the meantime I realized the polenta cakes were actually mashed potatoes. When she came back, sans the spinach, I asked about my polenta. She said, "oh, right, they decided not to do polenta because people weren't enjoying it." hello, couldn't you have told me that?! A while later the water boy - loved that guy - brought me a bowl of spinach. Spinach is easy, easy to sautee, but somehow someone didn't know how to do it! It was gross, no salt, no garlic, but they had put a pat of butter on top that was still melting. Of course, by the time the spinach arrived everyone else had finished their meal. The server came back (long time no see) and apologized for my experience. And said that she would like to treat my to dessert. I said no thank you and we left.
Since then, we've talked to several friends who had similar experiences. How do they stay in business? Is it the drunk people who come in late at night and don't realize this stuff?
