we went just in time before the monday lunch rush. The timing was perfect. the place is clean with New Orleans jazz playing in the back ground. Brenda was banging out the food by herself on the line. similar to the show over at Dottie's but better food. i think. Dotties was one of my favorite wait in line joints. now its BRENDA's!!! check her out. her biscuits are amazing and gumbo is off the hook.
We were in SF in September end 2007 on a culinary trip for my son, who was has just finished his culinary course in Shatec Singapore. Brenda's the place we went to on the last three days, and we wished we had the chance to extend the trip to sample her culinary treasures. My son and I left San Francisco with Brenda's and Boulevard as the two places having the most impact. Brenda, you've wowed us with you Beignets, Pancakes, Watermelon tea, and grits-your style, never mind what others say about it being not "True Grits". Should have tried your bisciuts, burger, ...etc. Next trip then.
I lived in New Orleans for 8 years. This is the real deal.
