Isn't this place closed and out of business? I drove past it last month and it was closed. I cannot rate this place because it's closed.
I was just driving by and noticed the Peets sign in the window, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed this place, as big as it is. It's the ground floor of a condo complex, so it doesn't stand out at all.
I'm originally from San Fran, so I am very familiar with Peets. The only other place I've seen Peets around here is at one of the terminals at JFK airport, but Steam is only 4 blocks from me. I didn't try the food other than a really tasty muffin -- they seemed to have a large selection, but all I remember is they had some grilled pizzas, sorry. Anyways, a muffin I can find anywhere, a great cup of Peet's is another matter altogether!
If you're into french-press, I know Cafe Mozart in Mamaroneck has it, but if you're not quite at that level of snootiness, this does the job just fine!
Menu is healthy and nicely varied - something for everyone and the coffee (Pete's) rocks!
Service is polite, professional and efficient.
Decor was well conceived but the high ceiling and bright lights make it a bit sterile - like a diner. Dimming the lights + table lighting would cozy things up.
