I first went to B&J's by luck, and...WOW. The most amazing brick oven pizza on the face of this Earth. They buy produce from a local marketplace and use it that day. You can actually taste each individual ingrediant on the hot, thin, crispy, fresh crust. Also, the appetizers are awesome to say the least. The fried tofu squares with chipotle sauce? INSANE! Waffle fries? PERFECT! Soup? OUT OF THIS WORLD! The inviting and unique atmosphere adds to the experience, as does the beautiful view of the lake. Along with great service, nice, genuine employees, and gelato to die for, Benji and Jake's might be the best restaurant I've been to so far in my life.

We were looking forward to eating at B & J's after hearing some good things about the restaurant. We were, however, sorely disappointed in the poor service, the hectic atmosphere and the mediocre food. The evening started out poorly when a waitress could not tell us what came with the entrees that we ordered. Some plates, utensils and paper napkins were unceremoniously piled in front of my fellow diners by a waitress that disappeared into the tumult around us. Not a slice of bread was anywhere to be seen. After 30 nminutes we asked about the pizza that we ordered as an appetizer and found out that "the restaurant is busy." The brick oven chicken entree was a dried out poor bird. The otherwise nice looking trout entre was poorly seasoned and a bit oily in taste. Not great! I later learned that most people order the pizza, not any of the entrees. But hey, if you have it on the menu, you should be able to put out a quality product. If not, take it off the menu and stick to what you know best: average pizza.

Benji and Jakes in one word.. original! This restaurant/bar is compiled of great dishes cooked with everything needed to make each meal a perfect one. The pleasure of listening to great tunes ,eating dinner and having some drinks is one to be had by all.
The people who run this joint are two of the most genuine and charming individuals i have ever met. Much love to BJ'S!
