My wife and I ate at the Garlic clove this afternoon. I read several blogs about the restaurant and one of the reasons we went there today, is the passion of the chef. He has the same mindset that every good manager or owner of any restaurant has, he wants every guest to leave happy. Most people that have a good experience at a restaurant will tell 3 people and those that have a bad experience will tell 10 people! As an owner of 6 restaurants, I want to say that our experience was good. The food was great! We had the sausage, meatball, eggplant, and cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, salad, bread and soup. My father Dominic, born in Italy, would change his mother’s recipe for meatballs, if he tasted the one I had at the garlic clove today. The bread was fantastic! The marinara sauce was authentic Italian and the eggplant was tender and cooked perfectly! Everything we tasted today was better than I expected after reading the blogs. As a small business owner, I want to say it’s hard to find real Italian food establishments in the US. I had to laugh when I read about people saying the Garlic Clove was cheap because they use small wine glasses! It’s like a hillbilly going to a five star hotel and getting upset when someone tries to take their luggage and they start a fight! If you have no idea what an authentic Italian dining experience is, go to the olive garden and leave your ignorant comments for your wife’s meatloaf! In closing, I want to give a few ideas that I think you should think about adding to the dining experience. Fresh parmesan cheese that the wait staff can grate on your dishes. Talk to your produce company about rust in the lettuce. The salad was wonderful, but as a restaurant owner, I know that the produce companies will give the worst product to the guy that won’t send it back. There are a few times a year that you have to deal with it, but this time a year, it should be perfect! Don’t except it, if it isn’t perfect! I had a wonderful meal and experience at your establishment today and we will be back often!
