I just had to say that my wife and I and some of her relatives had a disasterous experience with O'brien's this last weekend. It was our first time on the boardwalk and it being Valentine's Day and Mardi Gra Day we expected to wait for a table(and did so) but the service and attitudes of the manager on duty and wait staff were beyond bad. Our food arrived 45 minutes late after ordering, 2 of the orders were missing side items and one full order was missing completely. The owner blamed it on the kitchen and his staff being unprepared for the rush of business he got that night. The server continually ignored our table on drink refills while we waited for the food to focus solely on the table next to us and was rude and insincere to us when she did acknowledge us. When we tried to correct the wrong food orders, the manager lied to cover up the fact that he ran out of those particular side items but did not notify us asap so we could do a substitution.
On top of all this, he still expected us to pay full prices for all our meals minus 1 or 2 dollars for our "inconvienence". We insisted he comp the entire table for all the trouble and delays we had and he argued with us at first but finally relented and comped our table. When we asked to speak his supervisor he said he was done with us and walked off.
I plan on returning to bossier city and to the boardwalk one day to shop and eat but will NEVER eat at O'brien's again after being treated so badly.

Hi, Gregp. It sounds horrid. You must bring constructive criticism to an employee. There are times when departmental lives take on their own aspect in a going business. It can be dissastrous. All on its own these senario begin. I think it's the mind of the waiter sometimes that create same.

This is what I used to refer to as a "fern bar." It is casual and fun place to eat and socialize on the Boardwalk. It is friendly, has great service and menu. Neither the clientelle nor the staff are particularly Irish, except the owner who I had the pleasure of meeting. He's a great guy. A very enjoyable experience.
