Dr. Hassinger is by far the most superior surgeon in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I run a rescue and have several dogs of my own. He has done my late Jackdoggie's CCL joints on both legs as well as a biopsy when we could not explain sudden weight loss. Jack's spleen later ruptured and he almost died.We found out it was hermangio sarcoma cancer. Dr. Hassinger spent countless time on the phone with me and also checked in on Jack at the hospital. He referred us to red Bank in Tinton Falls, NJ and with chemo we extended Jack's life for 4 months. Dr. Hassinger also removed a tumor from my very old cat's mouth. She was 20 and lived one year after the tumor removal. Dr. Hassinger is going to be repairing our Betty Girl's CCL within the next few weeks. I will trust him with any and all animals that are in my care, including my own. Regarding the whiney little fusspot who complained about Dr. Hassinger I have to say that if they had concerns and expressed them he would have addressed them and did anything he could to accomadate them. You just can't please some people. Jack, Nikki, Betty Girl all say thank you Dr. Hassinger! And your staff is second to none. All of you set the bar for the standard of care that all doctors and their staff should give the animals.
My dog had a femoral head and neck excision. that was okay. however, the I.V. was put in wrong so now, $2,000 later, my dog can't walk on the "I.V." front leg. So they screwed up, and I keep getting charged for follow-ups to correct!!!!! real nice......
Paco says a big thank you to Dr. Hassinger and his staff. We had an emergency situation and were sent to Dr. Hassinger by our local vet. Dr. Hassinger actually did Paco's surgery over his lunch hour and Paco went home with us that day. He explained everything to us in detail and very patient with us as we asked several questions. The staff was also excellent and you could tell that they loved their jobs and the animals entrusted to their care.
I would highly recommend Dr. Hassinger and his staff.
Thank you all, you were great.

Let's clarify some facts. Your dog has elbow dysplasia which has been present since birth and is a genetic problem. The arthritis in the elbow, which is the cause of the lameness, has nothing to do with the "IV". The area on the leg where the "IV" was placed is completely healed!!!! Also, your dog uses that leg, but limps. This problem is completely separate from the surgery and has absolutely nothing to do with the surgical repair of the back leg. The only thing you were charged for was the medication. Dr. Hassinger did not even charge you a fee for his time!!!!!!!!!
I find it very difficult to believe that Dr. Hassinger did not extend himself to you. He extends himself to everyone and many times on his own time for free. He always go above and beyond his duty to everyone he deals with and I speak from experience having had three animals so far under his care for various surgeries. I never was charged for follow-ups but you have to pay for medication that is dispensed to you for your pet. Would you get any of your medications given to you for free? If you had asked for an explanation from Dr. Hassinger he would given you one and if you asked for him to clarify something he would have been more than happy to do so. It is unfair for you to make a negative comment about such a terrific surgeon and what's more a swell human being.
