User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsCarmen's has an excellent blend of traditional Italian dishes served with an authentic Italian atmosphere. The owner, formerly the chef of the various Rizzo restaurants found at Manatee drives Tophat plaza has retained the excellent flavors of Italy. Prices are reasonable and competative with other similar restaurants. I consider it the best Italian restaurant I have had the pleasure of visiting during my travels on the east coast and would recommend it highly.

Great Food! Cute Place! I would have given five stars if I did not feel like (unless you knew someone there) you were a nobody. Too bad the guy who answers the phone isen't the one who waits on you he had the right attitude. I will still go back and give it a second chance!

Carmen's is that of amazing quality. The service is outstanding and the quality is impeccable. I found it to be priced reasonably, considering the freshness and authenticity. Carmen's is a very quaint restaurant portraying a Romanic feel. I had the pleasure of indulging in parmesan veal and tiramisu for dessert, and I wouldn't have changed one thing. As a world traveler, I felt that I have been taken back to one of my favorite islands... Sicily

When we first went to Carmen's, we loved the food and the place. We noticed that the owners made friends with alot of their customers - it was a warm place, inviting. As we've gotten to know Carmen and Kay, we now feel also like part of their extended family. Of course, we didn't feel that way the first time we were there, but how could you expect to anyway, since they didn't know us, and vice versa? The food was great, still is, and we've been back many times since, and have gotten to know alot of other regulars, all types and walks of life. Regulars makes the place interesting on any night, Carmen and Kay's warmth make it like being with friends in your own home and kitchen. Thank you for being right around the corner too!
