I went to Best Buy for the 1st time...I had a couple questions about TV's and took forever to find a sales associate.I bought a Samsung 22' TV. Opened it and immediately saw a 3' gouge across the front of the screen. I have been attempting to call the store to have them set aside a replacement because I cannot return it for a couple days. On Sunday I listended to elevator music while on hold for 14 minutes. Phone then rang but nobody picked up. Called the next day and phone rang 50 times. This is absolutely horrible customer service. After I get a replacement, my Best Buy days are done forever...
9. Go in to Best Buy. The same lady that handled my computer the second time I went in was there to assist me this time as well. She went on to tell me that the cost of repair outweighed the actual cost of the computer so I would need to get a new computer and I could take a look at the ones they had available at the store. I said "nuh uh, I want THAT computer".."well we do not feel that computer in store anymore so you will ahem to either go to state college or purchase it online. We can refund you the money that would have been spent on that one for a computer that is in store"...."No I want that computer, so do whatever it is that you have to."....okay yadda yadda yadda
We can do that for you. Sign some papers and wait about a week for the new computer to be shipped to store. I get a call to come pick it up.
10. We arrive at Best Buy to pick up the lovely new computer. This time a different gal is there to help us. "Since you are replacing your computer, your warranty has been met thus, you will need to purchase a new one for the replacement computer". EXCUSE ME! I went on to explain to this lady that I was never told when I bought the warranty that it would be "fulfilled" if it needed to be replaced and I was very upset with this. She does not seem like she cares two bits about my sad story, so we ask for the manager. At this point Joel goes on to reiterate everything up to this point. We ask to see the report of damages because they try telling me that 3700$ damage was done to it! I look over the report it states the "condition that it was in on arrival: few smudges, normal wear" and then listed in the cause of damages is "drop and liquid damage"...Joel and I looked at each other and said Hold UP! We did not drop this computer and it is saying that i caused this??" How in the world would the condition of arrival state normal wear and few smudges if it were dropped and needed full case and LCD repair! The manager says...."Well If I would have been notified about this issue before you got the replacement, I could have done something for you, but now that you have the new computer, I can not." EXCUSE ME..how the hell would I have known that! He also tries to smooth it over by saying that they did give me a better version of the computer and I should be happy about that. HAH! I did not ask for the newer version and do not even know if the old version is still being made, so they would have had to give me this one anyway! The manager than says it is out of his hands and gives me a number to call that could deal with it.
11. I call the number only to get passed around to 4 people who had no idea what the hell they were doing. Someone send me to home theatre...another gives me a number that did not work! I finally get a hold of a lovely lady who seemed to sympathize with the situation. I dealt with her a few more phone calls and she finally tells me that she was able to "pull some strings" and get the rest of the warranty I had onto the new computer. I said thank you, but that is not good enough, I want the full three year warranty. She goes not o say how difficult it was for her to get just the remainder of my old warranty....I ask for her supervisor name and number...she send me to his voicemail. I leave a lovely voicemail for him, name, number, situation, call me back. I still have yet to receive a call from him and this was going on three weeks now.
