Hey everyone looking at reviews for Ruthy's Mexican Restraunt!! My name is Madison, I work as a register and walk around buser and helper almost everyday...I hope yall enjoy Ruthy's..I know I can never get tired of the food and ive worked there 3 years...This place has THE BEST mexican food I have EVER put in my mouth so far and it is always worth the drive or wait if you want some good ol mexican food. Hopefully we get a bigger place soon, whenever the availablity comes :) cause it would sure be nice...I know yall have to wait a long time when it does get busy...Just be patient with us!! We love yall comming and giving us your support!!
Thank YoU,
Ruthy's Crew!
This is the best mexican food in the Waco area. It is priced right and the service is great (as long as you can get seated)! It is a popular place with the locals, so expect to wait. Being this busy does not happen by doing something wrong. Enchaladas, chimichangas, and fajitas are my go to items. My wife loves the chile relanos. There fried ice cream for desert is good, but there tres leches cake is the best. My family and I would rather go to Ruthy's than any of the chain resturants in Waco. IT IS THAT GOOD!
The only bad thing is that being a fabulous restaurant in a small town means that you may not be able to find a table some nights. The previous reviewer is right about difficulty with to-go orders. They get SO busy during peak hours!
They are fast and delicious. This weekend I had the shrimp enchiladas with sour cream sauce and darn near had a "When Harry Mat Sally" moment when I took the first bite! My kids love the cheese quesadillas, and we all love the hint of bacon in the refried beans. They also have an amazing tres leches cake that is served frozen.
Because it fills up so quickly, you need to be there before 11:15 for lunch on Saturdays and before 5:30 for dinner on weekdays. If there is a game at the high school or junior high - good luck trying to get in! Your best bet is to go in and place a to-go order, then wander around the Dollar General a few doors down until it's ready!
