Where to start. My nephew attends PMAA. We go and watch, and of course listen to everyone gripe. All I can say truthfully is that I have seen alot go on there. White belts giving kids stripes, and testing them and everyone there passes, guess they need the cash. Most of them do not know their sets, and moves. The instructors all think they are the greatest. Personally I would recommend keeping your kids out of that church. We all heard and seen so much there, like a SOAP OPERA there. I agree with every negative comment on here. Bad when the teachers have to post here about their own school and how great it is. Thought this was for parents, students, etc to write a review. Well sad to say I will not be stepping foot back in that Church. No thank you. Well good luck to those that do. Who knows you may like it?. Guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions of the place and people there. I wish you all the best.
yeah he started another school up the mountain...seems funny him moving out of Blair County....I would not let any kids or my wife or daughter near the man..or should I say KID...grow up Steve...
AS LONG AS MY NEPHEW ENJOYS HIS TIME THERE, THATS ALL WHAT MATTERS TO ME. IF IT MAKES HIM SMILE OR BE HAPPY, THEN FINE. I WILL BE THERE FOR HIM IF HE ASKS ME TO COME WATCH HIM. BUT ITS FOR HIM, NOT PMAA.
Well where do I start. PMAA is a joke. Any instructor there, even white belts can advance the kids in higher rank belts. Which dont make sense. My child goes there. I think the reviews here are mostly correct. 90% of the time all they do is play games or exercise. Very little HAPKIDO learned or taught. Between all the instructors they have, I do not believe any of them actually have a certification in Hapkido. And with all the rumors flying around,I dont personally think they will stay in business much longer. They do tell many lies to try to make PMAA look good. You are there to learn Martial Arts, not play games like chase the bouncy ball around and tackle each other. I have no respect for anyone there. And all the parents that do stay and watch, all they do is talk about one another and the owners of PMAA, it really has gotten to alot of us. We go mind our own business. I do agree with the one review here. Stevie C my son adored. When he did the self defense and picked the kids up. He always enjoyed time with him. Now he is gone and I think we are going to leave as well. Do yourself a favor and try out other professional Martial Arts schools around. Dont waste your time and money on PMAA. You will seriously regret it. May be better if they opened a daycare, thats about all it really is. Peace Out!
Over-sized kids classes. Some favoritism apparent as other reviews suggest. The big items for me though were not enough one on one and children are breezing through belts without any particular mastery of a skill. I watched this take place in order to give the school a fair chance and the more I saw the more I regretted my decision. Their adult classes may be better but as far as what I have seen in the kids classes they are very half-hearted at best with maybe only half of the 1 hour class even pertaining to anything resembling Martial Arts. Each class I tried to give a chance thinking that maybe they were having a bad day or maybe they were not feeling well and it just stayed the same. I am very disappointed and I should have read the other reviews here first before making a decision. I honestly would never recommend this place to anyone! No major loss though as I see there are several other schools that have a majority of excellent reviews! It may be the right school for some if you are on the "in crowd" but for my money it definitely was not my kind of school or people. That is my .02 worth and finally my best recommendation is to do your homework before making this school your choice.
