My husband and I used to go to Happy Days at least every other sat. for their chicken alfredo. it has been several months ans new ownership since the last time we wre there. This time the meatloaf was awful, it tasted like barbecue sauce but was not advertised that way, and the burger was overcooker and home fries underdone. Our waitress was also very rude, ignoring all her customers and talking about a 'better' restaurant she was going to aplpy to, and not a manager or owner in sight. Not very professional. My husband said that we will never be going back. A lot of our friends and co-workers feel the same way.
It had been a few months since we were there and had good food and service so we tried it again. The place was so cold everyone had to wear coats. The pop machine was screwed up and we finally just asked for water for our son, two other tables chimed in and said the pop they got was messed up. The waitress at the counter said the pop was fine and was indifferent. My salad had rotten cherry tomatoes in it, mushy and brown inside. Our waitress (Ellyn) was not helpful in the slightest. We noticed food plates piling up from the cook but she just let them sit. By the time I got my fish it was ice cold! The portions were about half the size they were last time. There was no manager around so there was no-one with authority to change anything. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!
Happy Days is right! The atmosphere is retro, clean and inviting. The cafe is accessable. You'll be humming along with the background music and remembering good times.
O.K. now for the good part. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The menu goes on and on from omlets to filet mignon. I took a group of folks there for dinner and one had the filet mignon. It was delicious. She raved about its tenderness and flavor. Everyone else in the party was more than satisfied. Now that says something!
My favorite is the beautifully fried liver. It melts like butter in your mouth. A bit of crunch from the outside and heaven inside. The portions are generous.
You will not regret a trip to Happy Days. When you are done eating, you will know why I gave the whole experience 5 stars.
