Massage Envy employees only make from $12-$15 and hour. And believe me it isn't a 40hr a week job, you may work anywhere from 3hrs to 5hrs a day until you get exhausted. The company it's self is like the Wal-mart of massage. Not paying employees enough, and not giving them what they deserve. Massage therapists have to spend close to $1000 a year on continuing ed classes. I think a massage therapist deserves at least $50hr, to be able to make an honest living.
alright for what it is -- an affordable massage. only got 45 minutes, no nice little extras like heated oil or soft lighting. the therapist was nice and efficient enough but they only make about $12 per massage and can't be blamed for not making the extra effort between an ok massage and a great one. if it's all you can afford, it's a lot better than no massage at all.
Save your money and more importantly your time. I had 4 massages by 4 different people. The best was rushed and not soothing. The worst, are you ready for this...started 10 min late and ended 10 min early! Yes she was that efficient, she got 60 min of work done in 40! Wow, wish I felt like I got my moneys worth, but I didn't.
Please trust me, you are wasting your time.

Amy, I'm sorry you feel like you do about Massage Envy. I thought it was the best place I've been to and I've traveled all over the world! My therapist is wonderful and her experience is untouched. I also know that she makes over $30.00 per session. The price is great and the quality was not effected. The only way the you don't receive your full time is if your late and the therapist has bookings after you, otherwise if your late and they have no one after you they will give you your full time regardless. Give it another try and ask the front desk who is most requested. Jessica is my Therapist and it's hard to get in with her because she is so good. Take care!
I used to be a therapist here. The reason why they can't give you those "extras" is because they don't have a way to do those things. They don't have lotion/oil warmers or hot towel cabbies like regular spas do. Although, the lighting can be adjusted to be very low. You can get a great massage depending on which therapist you get, but therapists are scheduled back-to-back with only 5 minutes between clients. So, if you're late or take longer during consultation or undressing your massage time is affected. Although therapists here do not make only $12/session, they certainly aren't paid $30 per session unless you include tip. I worked for the company for a long time, therefore I was making more per massage than any other therapist at this location. Therapists starting pay there is $17/session plus tips and given that most therapists can not physically work more than 25 hrs. per week that is not a lot! I want to make it clear that most therapists that work there do care about their clients, however, they are not given the luxury to spend a lot of time with you and they don't have the ability to give you a lot of extras. It's not that type of environment.
