Today is Friday, 4/24. It is not a holiday. I have been calling this post office for the past three hours and they do not answer their phones! My taxes, hard at work, supporting people who aren't fulfilling their tasks!

I would like to state that two of the three employees who man the front counter at the Bloomfield Hills Post office, located on Long Lake and Woodward area were rude and condescending to me today when I was trying to understand the complexities of trying to understand why a flat-rate box could be picked up by calling for pick-up, but only if it was metered and not stamped. If I buy the stamps from the post office - they should be worth the same value as if I was using metered mail... but it would not be eligible for pick-up by my regular carrier with the stamps on it... It just doesn't make sense to me!! While making a statement, one of the clerks came up to the other, made a snide remark and then both walked away laughing. I understand that they have to deal with many situations on any given day, but does that give them the right to be discourteous to a customer who is just trying to understand the "rules" of the postal service?? As far as I'm concerned, the clerk who was waiting on me set a BAD example of treating other people with dignity and respect and should be given either time off for bad behavior or a certificate for a behavioral modification session. I pity my carrier if he has to deal with these people on a regular basis. If I were the people living in that area who had to deal with these clerks on a regular basis - I'd move!!
