Feeding a large family without a big price, I was searching for cheap places with good food for us to go to. Indys we tried the staff was sweet as ever to make sure all our needs were met to our satisfaction. The kids wanted a good burger and fries, I wanted a home cooked meal, and my husband wanted a breakfast type meal. We all recieved what we wanted in a quality timed manner. The food was hot and delicious, The price was even better. We even recieved a friendly check up from the owner and management. We all left there with full bellies and we still had money to spare. We have gone back to indys many times now when we just want a little of everything in a restaurant setting. I highly recommend Indys.
I grew up in a small midwestern town and spent most of my life running away from it. When my agency finally relocated me to Indianpolis, I sought out a piece of home by buying a house in Martinsville.
Indy's was the first place that I ever went to in Martinsville. The entire staff is nothing but "down home country folk"...the kind I grew up with. The food taste homemade rather than processed on an assembly line (much like a Denny's).
Kind and courteous with great food to boot, I've been back to Indy's several times and will continue to do so. Thank you, Indy's, for bringing a piece of home back to me.
Cutting corners just lost 2 customers. Stopped at the Martinsville Indy's and ordered a ruben/fries and 1/2 BLT/salad/ranch dressing/slaw. Sent the ruben back because there was more kraut than meat. Just guessing that there was barely 2 oz of meat, if that much. Thinest ruben sandwich I ever got from anyplace. Not good for almost $7.00. Manager said the meat was pre packaged/cut. I have never seen a ruben with shaved meat on it. All I have seen is sliced with at least 1/2 inch of meat on the sandwich. This sandwich was a joke so I returned the whole meal and went without supper. The wife said her bacon was so hard and also the toast was very hard as well that it made the inside of her mouth sore from trying to eat it. The ranch dressing was watered down so much it wasn't funny.
The waitress was very good to us and we kept telling her it wasn't her fault. It was the managements fault. When we left the manager checked us out. She never said anything to us, a sorry was not said nor a apology.
So as far as I'm concerned you have seen the last of me and I'm passing the word along about you cutting corners and for folks to not waste their money in your restaurant. I have stopped there many a time since we live in Bedford and go and visit our son at Greensburg. We sometimes meet there at your restaurant and eat and I spend as much as $50.00. Well that will not happen again nor will our son eat there either. You have now lost 4 customers. Keep up the good work and keep on cutting corners maybe one of these days you will have to close your doors due to bad choices.
I hope others wake up and let things be known. I'm tired of being taken advantage of by businesses.

Kandy - I needed to call Indy's to order food for a party and "again" noticed your whacko comment again. I/we drive quite a distance to go to Indy's Martinsville. We wouldn't go there if the food wasn't quality, delicious and the best service ever; time and time again. *** I sure hope your not the spoonmore that is running for office in "Johnson" county. I'm sure I have seen signs with that name recently in the Greenwood/Franklin area. If your as big an ass as an elected official as you are about your wild crazy comment on restaurants, I fear for anyone that has to encounter your ignorant self if you are elected; but I'm sure that anyone that knows you can tell you are a blow hard A.H. Anyone reading this that can VOTE, you now know who NOT to vote for. I will be SURE to let everyone I KNOW, to NOT vote for you. INDYS is one of my favorite restaurants and serves absolutely fabu food. His comments were out and out lies. Pretty typical of most of our elected officials, eh?
spoonmore233 ~ Your review is sooooo phony, it's laughable. You are either a former employee that was deservedly fired OR a manager/owner of a (what you may think), is a competative restaurant. Your review is full of LIES. I actually find the dressing perfect & sometimes a little thick. The food is ALWAYS delicious; the staff is extremely polite & treats us & all of our friends that frequent Indys often, like we are family. You are either a NUT or a PITA in general who's looking for a free meal, as a typical cheating family such as yours portrays in your outrageous review. Your description of your wife's toast is the most ridiculous of the complaints. (the inside of her MOUTH was SORE from TOAST? Are you serious? Get a life. Tell your LAZY wife to stay home & cook. Sounds like you complain no matter where you go as a SCAM for a free meal. This review is typical of your type of person/family disfunctionality. It is IMPOSSIBLE to have that many complaints in one meal for an entire family. STAY HOME.
I think the really interesting thing about this review is that you admit you've eaten there a ton of times... then give it a terrible review because of one bad experience. Everyone has a bad day... give them some credit. Why should one bad experience overwrite the past 20 or 30? That makes no sense and kind of says something about the validity of this review.
The problem with trusting your review is you haven't reviewed anything else. You 'might' of had a bad experience but it sounds like you only wanted to get on a soapbox to complain to the world of your foodie woes.
It is funny, the only other person to give this place a bad review has given 10 out of the 11 other places she has reviewed one stars. Maybe you two people are hard to please, or just pessimistic to the core. YOU ate at a diner! It is not a fine dining experience, so I don't feel it realistic of you to hold Indy's to the same standards.
I would like to thank every other reviewer for their unbiased opinion and for swaying my decision to go to Indy's tonight...
