Choosing the right childcare is a tough decision but we’re confident we made the right choice in The Chastain School! The tenure of the teachers and the experience of the management team provide a great environment for attention to detail. We have had our children in the school since they were 6 and 8 weeks old and they are 2 and 4 now. Our overall experience has been outstanding. What makes it special and unique for little people is it’s continuity of care. As for as we know The Chastain School is the only school in the Sandy Springs/Buckhead area to offer this approach to infant and toddler care. Our children were with the same teachers and children since they enrolled as infants. There are only 8 children within 6 months of each other in each class so we knew they are getting the individualized care and attention we want. We loved how well they knew each child’s unique needs and personality. We also love the fact the school is Christian based. Each week the children are introduced to God and the values taught throughout the Bible through song, story and activities. It is obvious that the culture of the school is based on Christian values too. The teachers are very kind, professional and there is no question they love our children. My wife’s mother, stepmother, sister and cousin are all teachers so we got an ear full about what to expect from a great preschool. They all questioned whether a “daycare” could be an excellent preschool. Our son is in his second year of the preschool and the teachers have done an excellent job. According to the “experts”….yes, my wife’s overly critical family, they are teaching him everything he needs to know and more to be prepared for any public or private Kindergarten. My wife’s stepmother was one of the preschool teachers of the year in Florida and she says that the school’s learning through play is the best way for children 3-5 years old to develop their academic, social and emotional skills. So with all that we have been very happy with the preschool too. We have a number of friends with children in other daycare/schools and we’ve come to appreciate that no place is perfect but if you’re looking for a place where children’s development and education come first The Chastain School is the right for you.
