The Pastrami sandwich is delicious...pastrami melts in your mouth!! I heard from lots of friends that the pastrami sandwiches at The Refuge are good and I experienced it for myself today. I would definitely recommend this place with the disclaimer that it's a little expensive for a sandwich lunch spot. The service was fast but I only heard the server talk when taking our order. The garlic fries were good too. Not your typical preparation of tossing minced garlic over some fries. Enjoy!
Great place for lunch. Killer selection of Belgian brews. The Delirium Tremens was a little off and it was not carbonated enough. I also had a St. Bernardus on another visit and it had a metallic taste. I question their keg and tap systems due to these two experiences I had.
Great food pairing options, like kick ass pastrami sandwiches. All that said, The Refuge is overpriced! Every item on the menu including the beer is priced 1.5x-2x what customers should pay for. I'm using the Trappist, the City Beer Store, and Tornado as comparisons for beer prices.
Good concept, but for me there are quality and pricing flaws in the execution.
Best pastrami on the planet! The fifteen Belgian ales on tap are an oasis in an otherwise Budweiser world.
