First complaint I have ever written but it seems appropriate that it is for Holbrooks.
My younger brother was moving out of town and asked them if they wanted to buy his used (but almost new) appliances. Holbrooks said yes and so my brother delivered the items to them. They gave him a receipt for $100.00 (way under the value of his items) and told him he would have to come back to get the money. He went back for many days in a row and they kept giving him excuses why they couldn't give him the money.
He finally had to leave town and gave the receipt to me. I tried collecting the $100.00 for 3 weeks at least 4 times per week. Final they told me they didn't want the items. I went to pick them up to find they had already sold the refrigerator and the stove they had out in front as their daily bargain with a $250.00 price tag.
I can't count how many people they had in there complaining about bad service, bad merchandise or lies they have told. They have an F on the BBB website. They also have numerous law suits showing them as defendants at the Butte County Court house web-site. People like this shouldn't be in business.
It is a store with inexpendsive things many refurbished, my experience was not the best after some complains for defective or not to my like items I was told to stuck with the item I have, and told that no more explanations will be given.
