Look Rock Bakery & Pizza

My wife & I decided to head over to Maryville/Alcoa to have lunch and stroll the greenway. She had seen an add for an new eatery named after Look Rock, a local lookout tower. We found the pizzeria almost deserted, but it was well past the lunch hour so we proceeded inside. Wow, what a great decision! The interior was very modern yet relaxed. You instantly felt like this place was made for hikers fresh off the trail and mid-life yuppies fresh out of the office. But forget about the wood trim and photos of Look Rock decorating the place, I'll dine in a hole-in-the-wall if the foods right. This place does not disapoint. My wife decided to try the Vincent's Italian sandwich (Pastrami, salami, pepperoni, provolone, red onions, and balsamic vinaigrette) and I chose the Veggie Delight pizza (Roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, fresh spinach, portabella mushrooms, red onions, roma tomatoes, and roasted garlic). Now let me say I eat sandwiches everyday and was not in the mood for one today. I specifically don't care for italian meats, but this sandwich was so delicious I confiscated half of it and convinced my wife she wanted half my pizza. The pizza was quite good also; it arrived so colorful I almost couldn't eat it, almost. Now the place looked great and our meal was excellent, but the best part was yet to come. Everyone working there was so nice and when the manager came over to ask if everything was okay, we were like "Everything's so good I think we'll have coffee and dessert". That's exactly what we did and listen up because this is the most important part. If for no other reason, you should stop in and try the Monkey Love cheesecake. I mean if you're local, you'll definitely appreciate the Treemont Vanilla Latte (I did) or the Abrams Falls Caramel Latte (wifey), but the cheesecake will break your heart. This place is great and the manager said they also have live music on Saturday nights (as if we needed another reason to come back). One more thing and I'll shut up. When we pulled up, I was in a foul mood (the wife's fault), but after the sandwich I was happy and found bliss with the cheesecake.
