I took a carload of nice clothing in on July 2, 2011 and when I never got a check the next month I called to find out what was happening. First I was told that I only brought some items in June and the check was less than $5 so I would have to come pick it up. I did take a load in June, but it was a much smaller load than the one in July. I was told that most of my items from June had been donated to charity because they were "too worn or out of style" and that I hadn't taken anything else in. I figured out when I dropped the big load off and called back. I spoke to the owner, Allyson. She told me they processed clothes from me on July 6 and that all of my items had been donated because they were "too worn or out of style." It's impossible that everything I took in was unsaleable. There were many classic items,some brand new and I went through everything very carefully, taking out anything that looked worn or had spots before hanging it to take to Then & Now. I have been using this store to sell my clothes for many years and just in the last couple of years they have not been giving much cash return. I wonder if someone else bought the store recently? I will be filing with the BBB. How can this business have two stars when 3 out of four have given it one star?
