flying monkey tattoo is awesome there are alot of people who really dislike it for some reason seeing as the renovations are nothing more than dust for the "dirty" look i really think that people are to sensative when it comes to a tattoo shop i usually go there to get good work and good peircings which all of them are incredible artist and not to mention their piercer has been piercing for 16 years so i truely believe that you are not going to a 5 star hotel its a tattoo shop grow some balls or get the hell out
A bad review is always disheartening especially when the client doesnt communicate with the business.First off,yes the downstairs lobby was a wreck,we were doing renovations adding a drawing space and new hardwood floors to the back for a new streamlined look.I will apologize for the comments I made about liberals and for anyone who may have spoken out of turn.As far as my apprentice,he has a lot to learn and as far as the artist insulting one of his clients, that happened to be a close friend of the shops who has been around for a long time.I know that excuses are a dime a dozen and I give none other than this will serve to further upper our game and tighten up where YOU the client find us lacking. However there is one thing I will set in order.WE ALWAYS practice sterility in our studio regardless of anyones opinion and I challenge you to prove me wrong.Thank You, TEXXX
Hmm, where do I begin? This place was absolutely horrible. DO NOT GO THERE! First of all, it was not clean. Secondly, the apprentice who runs the front counter is too busy playing his guitar to even help anyone who is interested in getting a tatt or a piercing. My boyfriend wanted to get a tatt and my sister and I wanted a piercing. When the apprentice finally realized that we needed some assistance he put his guitar down and very rudely "helped" us. We should have left right then and there but we had heard so many good reviews that we decided to stay. BIG MISTAKE. We were told that the piercer had left for the night so only my boyfriend could get tattooed and we were asked to come back at 9pm and Texx would tattoo my boyfriend. We ended up coming back in around 8:45pm and we sat there until almost 9:20pm when my boyfriend finally asked the apprentice where the hell Texx was and if he was even showing back up to do the job. The dumb ass apprentice was so distracted by his guitar that he forgot to tell us (even though we had been sitting there for over 30 min.) that Texx called and said he'd be back at 9:30pm to tattoo him. So we sat and waited ... and waited. The enitre time we were there waiting, Texx's children were running around the shop, screaming and dropping food everywhere. The apprentice and another tattoo artist were telling the kids to shut up and go play in traffic. I don't care if they were just joking with the kids, but honestly the kids had be at least 8 and 6 years old at the most ... you don't talk to children like that. While we were waiting we also witnessed one of the tattoo artists making fun of his client that he was getting ready to tattoo. Do that on your time and not in front of customers. When Texx finally showed back up he did apologize, although it wasn't very sincere. And instead of taking my boyfriend up right away to tattoo him, after we had been waiting for over and hour now, he decided it was time to chat with a friend of his instead. We had to listen to him talk about someone's girlfriend being pregnant and stripping and he is such a conservative and liberals are ruining the world. It was ridiculus. By the time he got around to tattooing my boyfriend, it was well past 10pm and he did a very shitty job. The tattoo was a small, simple design and only being done in black ink and right now it looks like crap. After he finished the tattoo, he very rudely demanded $70, even though he made us wait for over an hour, and he didn't cover the tattoo or give my boyfriend any instructions or A&D ointment to take with him. Thank God I have about 7 tattoos and I know how to properly take care of them, becasue Texx just didn't care enough to explain anything to my boyfriend (this was only his second tattoo). I would have rather gotten ripped off at South Side tattoo instead ... they may be expensive, but at least their artists do good work. Flying Monkey is dirty, the employees are rude and the work is shitty. Don't even bother checking this place out.
