This business woman is an amazing talent! I will highlight 3 separate services she has provided; all with the highest level of quality, skill, innovation, and customer service.

1) Repairs: I was in the middle of a conference standing up in front of an auditorium full of people when the back seam of my pants began to split. There was really only one thing to do… I asked the audience if anyone was a tailor. Fortunately, Ms. Smith was in attendance. We took a short break, and she was able to accomplish a temporary repair; enough to get me through the conference, until she could do a more permanent fix. She didn’t even charge me. She just asked that I spread the word, which I did -- to everyone in that auditorium!

2) Refurbish/redesign: After such a satisfactory experience, I went to her with one of my favorite business suits which was woefully out of step with today’s style. After a very collaborative consultation, we agreed on a plan. She quoted a price range, and remained well within that range. I am delighted by the final outcome. I still have my suit, it is current with today’s look, and for a fraction of what it would have cost me to replace it!

3) Fiber art: I saw some of Ms. Smith’s soul quilts and tapestries during my visits and later, heard from another source how wonderfully fulfilling the experience was. I now have my own soul quilt which hangs in a place of honor in my home. The quilt reminds me of the importance of connection; that we are all connected, and that our souls will guide us, if only we let them.

I can only describe this business entrepreneur as joyful. She has a great sense of humor, and does a lot of humming and smiling as she works. I finally asked her how it is that she always appears to be so content. She told me that the most important thing she does as a tailor is to stand a person in front of the mirror in the finished product to savor the perfect fit.

“Because when we are perfectly fitted in our clothing, no matter our body type, our best self image emerges and is reflected back to us in that mirror, and this is a joyful experience.”

Quality, price, experience. These are the three things that are most important to any customer. Ms Smith excels in all three!

Alterations by Phyllis offers top-tier service. She's extremely organized, efficient & talented at her craft. She always makes sure she has every detail accounted for & it shows in her beautiful work. i HIGHLY recommend her services for any alterations needed, from clothing to helping design curtains! Phyllis is Phantastic!

I was pricing out how much it would cost to alter a dress' zipper, something very simple- all but her quoted me around $75. She quoted me over $200 and said she charges $25 an hour. I have read other reviews about her after I had emailed her and they all said she is very overpriced and rude!! The other reviews also said she did a horrible job and even ruined someone's dress!! DO NOT GET YOUR ALTERATIONS DONE THEIR!
